Abstract

The low achievement of Indonesian students in PISA forces the world of education to improve their learning process. One of the efforts is through learning planning that is able to make students active and develop their scientific literacy. The teacher's limitations on scientific literacy and the use of learning models are very high, so that sometimes chemistry learning is more theoretical in nature, this is thought to be one of the causes of students' low interest and motivation to study chemistry. Community Service (P2M) regarding scientific literacy and problem-based learning (PBL) conducted by the Department of Chemistry Education, UPI in collaboration with high school/vocational high school chemistry teachers in Sumedang and Majalengka districts aims to provide deepening of the material and design of learning related to the basic laws of chemistry. The method used is workshops conducted both online and offline with a scenario equivalent to 32 lesson hours (JP), namely 8 JP offline and 16 JP online and 8 JP working independently. The product from this activity is in the form of a chemistry learning design on the topic of basic chemical laws that is appropriate and has been evaluated in context and content, which can be used in teaching chemistry at school.
