Wahana Fisika : Jurnal Fisika dan Terapannya (Physics and its application journal) was first established in early 2016 using the name "Wahana Fisika," under the  Physics Program, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia with non-accredited status. In the Middle of year 2017, the journal got indexed by DOAJ and registered with e-ISSN : 2549-1989. In 2019 Wahana Fisika got national accreditation by Ministry Higher Education with grade SINTA 3 until now and will expire in 2029.

Since 2016: The journal was published biannually, with two issues per year in June and December.

From 2016-2023 Wahana Fisika was free of charge. But, Since 2024 Wahana Fisika is applying a change in Article Processing Charge/Fee (APC) to authors, due to university policy change in budgeting program.
