Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission items

Cover letter. Authors should confirm that the work is original and has not been published elsewhere nor is it currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Please explain in your own words the significance and novelty of the work, the problem that is being addressed, and why the manuscript belongs in this journal. Title page. The title page is the first page of the manuscript (1 page) and should be submitted in a separate Word document from the manuscript. This page should include all the information of the contents of the article, author(s), origin of the article, and the article type. Please download the “Template of Title Page” for more details.

Manuscript. Manuscript head should contain only Title without author details. Manuscript must not exceed 18 typed pages. Abstract should be no longer than 250 words. The manuscript format is 12 point Times New Roman, 2 line spacing (except Table is 1.0 line space), one inch margins on the top, bottom, and both sides of the page, and must include page numbers. Revision items: Response to revision request

Once the manuscript has been assigned as revision, the authors must answer the reviewers’ comment point by point using the “Response to reviewer Form” and should be submitted in a separate document from the revised manuscript. The manuscript must be revised by using “Tracking Change’ as a tool in Microsoft Word only. Please download “Response to Reviewer Form” for more details.

Process of Submission

  1. Prepare manuscript following the WAPFI format.
  2. Submit your manuscript on ScholarOne System.
  3. Wait for confirmation e-mail. If the format is incorrect, manuscript will be returned to author. If correct, the payment process is informed.
  4. After receiving your payment, plagiarism, quality of manuscript and English language will be roughly check and peer review will be proceeded on.

Editorial review and processing

Peer Review. All submitted manuscripts are screened by the Scientific Editor for importance, substance, appropriateness for the journal, general scientific quality and amount of new information provided. Those failing to meet the current standards are rejected without further review. Those meetings these initial standards are sent to at least two expert referees for peer review. No referee identity is disclosed to the corresponding author and no author identity is disclosed to any referee (double-blind). Referee comments are reviewed by an Associate Editor, often after allowing the author to make changes in response to any comments from referees. The Associate Editor then advises the Scientific Editor to either accept or reject the manuscript. The Scientific Editor informs the corresponding author of the final decision. The review process ordinarily is completed within 1-2 months. If the process is delayed beyond that point, the corresponding author will be notified.

Rejected manuscripts. Rejected manuscripts including original illustrations and photographs will be returned to authors.

Accepted manuscripts. The corresponding author will be asked to review a copy-edited page proof. The corresponding author (on behalf of all authors) is responsible for all statements appearing in the galley proofs. The corresponding author will be informed of the estimated date of publication.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

These ethical guidelines have been adapted from ethical principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). They serve as a framework for ensuring ethical conduct in research, writing, and peer review processes within the Kasetsart Journal of Social Sciences.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

These guidelines help promote integrity, transparency, and responsible behavior among authors in academic publishing. They serve as a reference for authors to maintain high ethical standards throughout the research and publication process. The ethical guidelines for authors cover seven topics:

1. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors should ensure that their work is original and properly acknowledge the work of others through citations in the Acknowledgements section. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

2. Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Simultaneous submissions can lead to issues of duplicate publication, which is unethical.

3. Authorship and Acknowledgments: All individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the research should be listed as authors. Others who have contributed in a smaller capacity should be acknowledged appropriately. Authors are required to define the specific contributions of each author using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy). Each author may have one or multiple roles depending on their contribution to the research and manuscript preparation. The contribution roles include:

Please ensure that all authors agree on the contribution statements before submission.

4. Data Integrity: Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the research presented. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is unethical.

5. Conflicts of Interest: Authors should disclose any financial or personal relationships that might influence the research or its interpretation.

6. Ethical Review and Consent: Authors should ensure that their research involving humans or animals has been conducted ethically, following appropriate guidelines and obtaining necessary approvals. Informed consent must be obtained from participants. KJSS requests the submission of copies of informed consent from human subjects in clinical studies or IRB approval documents.

7. Disclosure of Funding Sources: Authors should disclose the sources of financial support for their research and any potential conflicts of interest related to funding.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Manuscripts submitted for publication in WAPFI should be between 4,000 and 10,000 WORDS and typed in double spacing, including tables, figures, and references.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.

  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
  • The author is REQUESTED to recommend 5 (FIVE) national or international peer reviewers during the submission: 1. Reviewer Names, 2. Institutions, Countries, 3. Emails, 4. Reasons. The suggested reviewer must be outside your institution. The author confirms that there is no conflict of interest regarding recommending reviewers. WAPFI has the authority to decide the reviewers from or outside recommended reviewers.

Research Paper

This section publishes original research articles in the field of physics education and related areas. Research papers should present significant contributions to theory, methodology, or practice in physics education.

Research papers must present original research findings and should include the following components:

  • Title

  • Abstract

  • Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

Manuscripts must follow the author guidelines and formatting requirements established by the journal.

Review Paper

This section publishes review articles that provide a comprehensive and critical overview of research developments in the field of physics education and related disciplines. Review papers synthesize existing literature to identify research trends, theoretical perspectives, gaps in current knowledge, and future research directions.

A review paper should present a systematic, critical, and well-structured analysis of existing literature. The manuscript typically includes the following components:

  • Title

  • Abstract

  • Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review or Theoretical Framework

  • Method of Literature Selection (for systematic reviews, if applicable)

  • Discussion of Research Trends and Findings

  • Implications for Research and Practice

  • Conclusion

  • References

Authors are encouraged to include recent and relevant scholarly sources to ensure the comprehensiveness and credibility of the review.

Authors who submit manuscripts to Wahana Pendidikan Fisika (WaPFi) agree to the following terms:

1. Originality of the Manuscript

The submitted manuscript must be an original work that has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication in another journal or publication venue. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript does not contain plagiarism or any form of academic misconduct.

All authors listed in the manuscript must have made significant contributions to the research and must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
